The Sister Tour is a community organization of artists from Flint MI created in the midst of a man-made water crisis that is a creative response, expression of resilience and a form of social justice for the people of Flint that continue to live without access to clean water and who pay the highest water bills in the country.  Proceeds from the sale of the designated print and any additional donations given at GBE for the Sister Tour will fund performances and workshops on campuses and social media throughout the country.  $60,000 will subsidize the Sister Tour performances at five Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs); Spelman College in Atlanta GA, Howard University in Washington DC, Hampton University in Virginia, Florida A.M. in Tallahassee, FL and Jackson State University in Jackson MS. In addition the funding will cover a tour in Puerto Rico. Amber Hasan relocated to Puerto Rico after the water crisis but was forced to return to Flint due to hurricane damage. Budgeted expenses include the costs of six members of the Sister Tour's travel, lodging, artist fees, per diems, a public relations firm, venue rentals, equipment and sound engineering.  Any additional donations will be used to make a documentary film of the tour, album and book.
